Throw Back Thursdays are popular on social media, because let’s face it, there are lots of great memories we fondly look back on and want to share. We recycle the best parts of our past, our childhoods, and bring them into the present…and I get a real kick out of seeing reboots (or even flashbacks) of my favorite shows as a kid still being extremely popular.
Remember Super Mario Brothers? My sons’ are fans today, 30 years after I was a major fan as a kid. We have two entire walls dedicated to Super Mario Brothers murals. My sons also have Mario and Luigi pajamas, the whole collection of plush figures ranging from Princess Peach to Shy Guy (about 17 of them), and Super Mario toothbrushes.
30 years later folks…some things never end. My sons watch Super Mario Brothers on Netflix, streaming it regularly.
I also loved Smurfs, Care Bears, and Woody Woodpecker…and my sons do too, today.
Some things never change…the classics endure for generations, entertaining us, our kids, and our kids’ kids, and I love them as much now as I did then (maybe more, because now I’m watching Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, a reboot of Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood, with my kids…and the time spend together makes it even more wonderful).
