The days of vehicles being not much more than a box that takes you from point A to point B are long gone, and the 2014 Kia Forte EX displays how far cars have come admirably. It’s even more advanced than what was available just ten years ago, and starting at just under $16,000, anyone can have a vehicle packed with luxuries and comforts.

I recently drove the 2014 Kia Forte EX over the holidays for a week, during the icy cold and some snowy storms, and loved features like the heated front and back seats, a heated steering wheel, the option to store seat position for two drivers, and rear back up camera. It’s a four door sedan with lots of room and safety features that makes luxury affordable to practically anyone.
I’m a mom and have two bunckins in car seats, so I loved the back up video camera. I loved the warning beeps and lights when anyone was on my side or in my blind spot and I was preparing to change lanes. I loved the reinforced steel beams that are inside every door for side impact precaution, because the roads are icy and even if I’m being careful, that does mean everyone is. I want to protect the passengers behind every door of my vehicle.
It features a remote keyless entry too, navigation, roomy cargo space, and I noticed while we were driving down main roads that we reached a gas mileage of 34 miles per gallon- not bad! The lights automatically turn off too, which my husband loves because I’ve left the lights on in our old car (more than once) when parking for the night, only to find a dead battery (more than once) and useless car awaiting me the next morning. No fun.

I didn’t want to go back to my old car. I didn’t even want to get out of the Kia Forte to go back into my house! The only thing missing on the model I reviewed (the 2014 Kia Forte EX in Abyss Blue) is autostart, because I definitely don’t enjoy sitting out in the cold with my kids in the frigid cold waiting for the car to heat up, so any vehicles I buy in the future have to have one (standard or as an option), but otherwise the 2014 Kia Forte I reviewed had it all.

It’s a really cute little car, and I’m with you about all the beeps and warnings. The more protection the better! I don’t mind not having autostart; I live in the South. 🙂
That is a lot of features for such a great price. My daughter misses the heated seats she had in her first car. I would love to go and test drive one.
That is super cute and for the price that is very reasonable. Love the blue color, very unique!
Oooo. A heated steering wheel. My fingers are always icy so I’d use it in the summer too!
That looks like a fun car to drive. I’m driving a 15 year old Honda CR-V and right now we’re always on the lookout for what the new vehicles offer because we know it won’t be long and we’ll have to replace it.
Sounds like a great car!
I need to test drive a Forte. I love the price tag, and we will be in the market for a new vehicle in the near future. 🙂
I love the color! My old car was that same color! This looks perfect for a second car for us.
I really like the Abyss Blue color. What I wouldn’t give for auto start with the cold we are experiencing. I nearly froze my butt off this morning waiting for the car to be warm enough to drive. Brrrrrrrrrrrr!
It looks both sporty and comfy… a tough combo to achieve
What I would do for keyless entry, heated steering wheel and seats right now. That is a pretty looking car!
I wouldn’t be able to fit my family in a car this size, but it looks really nice for people with smaller families. I’m more and more impressed with Kia lately!
Today was AWFUL! It was about 5 degrees over here, I didn’t even bother bringing my son to school.
Kia’s make such good cars. I love the color of it as well. The auto start sounds great too!
I really like the sporty look of this car and that blue is gorgeous.
The new Forte is beautiful! My Kia’s lights automatically turn off too and I know that feature has saved me countless times. I could certainly use the blind spot signals, which is one extra my Sorento does not have.
The color is gorgeous! I really want a Kia.
I have never had a Kia, but it sounds like a nice car to have!
Kia vehicles have such great price points and really are great cars for the money. We have a Kia van that we have been incredibly happy with for years.
That is a great price and looks like a great car.
I recently test drove this car and I really loved it!
I love all the features it has- and that’s awesome gas mileage- but I can’t get over that color! It’s SO perfect!
Oooh – I like the idea of a heated steering wheel. I have heated seats in my car but the steering wheel would be nice too!
That dashboard is great and so are all the features.
These are such great looking little cars.
