A Summer Of Date Nights #SummerOfGroupon

This post brought to you by Summer of Groupon. All opinions are 100% mine.

If there is one thing lacking around here, it’s date nights. My husband and I are so busy with work and our kids, and we don’t really have any grandparents to help us out much, that we don’t get to spend time alone together, just the two of us. If I say that we might have gone on three dates in the last four years, I’m not exaggerating.

This last month, because we were invited by Groupon to enjoy an epic summer to remember, we decided to really just go for it and do the things we wanted. We really wanted to just have some time together, enjoy the warm summer evenings, and relax…to really be in the moment and act like we did when we were dating- carefree, fun, and happy.

date night black and white

We made dates each week, and went out to try both traditional cuisine we love, new places we haven’t tried, classic places we never thought we’d dine at, and more. We love to go out for dinner, and it’s been a long time since we didn’t need to tote some iPads along to entertain our children and bribe them to behave, and the quiet was both unusual and very welcome. It was so great!

romantic date night

And because Groupon’s Summer Shop is offering an incredible range of Fresh Eats options (places like Passione Restaurant on Long Island and The Round Table in Manhattan are welcoming Groupon customers with big discounts and great service), we were able to do this without going into huge debt.

Passione Restaurant is made for date nights. It’s romantic and beautiful and the food is delectable. It was so fun to just sit with a glass of wine and enjoy some food and laugh together, and the glowing atmosphere with serene low lighting, candles, stone walls, and canopies made me feel like we were dating again. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we vowed to do this more often, at least once a month, and not forget again that parents need some free time and fun too.

A month of fresh eats, epic adventures, family fun, and more, thanks to great deals in Groupon- we are very grateful for our opportunity to share our experiences with you! If you missed any of our Summer of Groupon, you can read how we swam with sharks to find treasure and witness the most gorgeous exotic sea life, had squirting wars in water bumper boats, were creeped out in fun houses and rode life-sized toy trains, played mini golf on a haunted pirate golf green, rock climbed, drove a ferrari, enjoyed hot stone massages, found great deals to enjoy hours at bounce houses, played trampoline volleyball, had s’mores picnics at home, found amazing eateries in our local neighborhood, and I even had a head to toe beauty makeover while hubby started down the road of laser hair removal. Enjoying a Manhattan getaway to see the Intrepid and having some date nights along the way just made our best summer ever even better!
