I have two sons, and two locomotive train fans. My two year old calls trains “Choo choos” and is utterly fascinated by them, watching hours of train cartoons, trying to spot images of trains as we are our and about, spending afternoons building up his Chuggington wooden railway set with interlocking wooden train tracks while moving his “Choo choooo!” trains around. It’s his favorite past time and he looks out for trains when we are out and about too.

Our train set is built on the Chuggington Wooden Railway set, which allows us to combine different components to recreate an entire Chugginton train world over time if we’d like (and we would, my son is a collector). Our newest addition is the Chuggington Wooden Railway Trainee Set, with three Chuggington characters, Wilson, Koko and Brewster, and the Chuggington Roundhouse. This set includes over six feet of tracks that go straight or curve for straight or winding tracks, and because other tracks in the wooden railway collection elevate we are able to create an extensive, windy, and even multi-level track for our trains to chug through.

We love the quality of these real wooden sets, which is why, when we were originally face with the choice of what brand, material, set to build on, I knew that we’d be creating our virtual train world with Chuggington’s wooden railway train sets. They remind me of the trainset boys in the 50’s would build, and all I need is a conductor’s cap for my son and we are set.

I also love the look and feel of the real wood. My daughter was into any and all plush animals and she could come up with endless stories for them.
My son really loved his Legos and had a ton of models built and displayed. I still have them all (in pieces). 😉
My son is almost six and doesn’t play with trains much these days but we also had wooden sets and let me tell you, he much preferred them over anything plastic, like he knew it was more durable 🙂
My son use to love trains when he was younger. I love the look of this and it looks very fun.
My son used to love playing with trains. I miss that time.
Gavyn has a HUGE fascination with trains when he was younger. All he wanted was a train set and he told everyone. For his 3rd birthday he received four tracks!
Now it is dumb video games and accessories. He also loves remote control cars. Zoe has a fascination with anything crafty and Rainbow Loom.
My daughter LOVED playing with Legos all the time when she was younger. She still enjoys playing with them when her cousins come over 😉
These are so adorable! Thanks for sharing.
Wow, wish they had had these when my youngest was smaller. The wooden tracks are so nice.
This is a great train set. My grandkids would love it.
