Letters To My Son {May 2013} – Party Animal

To our growing little man,

Well, you may be over three, but there are still a lot of firsts! What a funny month we shared together ๐Ÿ™‚

Seeing you pronounce “It’s not fair!” for the first time with folded arms and a pout melted my heart. Where did you learn that??

Being tagged by you, “Tag! You’re it!”, repeatedly, before anyone had a chance to tag you back, just to make sure we stay “it”. It’s unbelievable how much you are learning and developing (and understanding).

The best moment was when we told you a fib just to get you to listen, and you replied with a shocked and disbelieving “Really??”โ€ฆno honey, you aren’t supposed to wear underwear over a Pull Up, but since you wouldn’t go to sleep without underwear, we told you that’s how you wear it… seeing you question the logic of it was classic.

I’m so proud of you, and daddy and I hope that we are making every day as fun and wonderful for you as you are making them for us.

  • My son’s three too & it seems like every day he’s saying something that I can’t figure out where he learned it. He’s yet to use “It’s not fair” though- I am just picturing your son saying it & it’s hilarious!

  • nicole @nicky_olea

awwww. love the undies over pull-ups. I’ve done that too.!]

  • He’ll appreciate all of these when he gets older

  • He melts my heart!! Oh my gosh. It’s so fun to watch them learn new phrases and just interact with you and the world. Some of the things that comes out of Hunter’s mouth amazes me, like where the heck did you learn that. (In a good way.)

  • Donna

I just love your photos! You got a smart one there… he knew “logically” what you said didn’t make sense. And his questioning it was his little brain working it out. Love it!

  • It goes to fast. My son is obsessed with saying No right now. Sigh.

  • Such beautiful pictures! I love that you capture all these precious moments.

  • Fabulous pics.

  • He is sooooooo adorable! What a cute little guy you have there! He sounds like a little smarty pants ๐Ÿ™‚

  • So sweet … and he looks so much like your husband.

  • LOVE the pictures.

  • Kids change fast and you’ll continually say, “Where’d they get that from?” when you see new expressions and moods. I love how you’re treasuring each moment!

  • Mellisa

I am really thinking about getting a special book for each of my kids were I write special notes to them, This would be really special when they are older and I am gone.

  • Looks like he had fun. Love that bottom one.

  • Jenn

These letters are just so cute! I love that you told him to wear underwear over his pull-up to get him to go to sleep LOL!

  • Awww. I remember these days. Now, as my boys become pre-teens and gasp, one becomes a teen this year, the sweet innocence is less and less, but every once in a while I still get to glimpse the little boy full of wonder underneath.

  • I love that you do this. Your pictures are awesome too.

  • Your photos look amazing!

  • Such a sweet post!

  • Aww.. your son’s so cute! I love it when kids are at this stage. It’s a double-edged sword sometimes, I don’t mind it so long as the questions stay cute. LOL They’re so adorable to look at, asking all sorts of questions, and then questioning our answers. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Now you need a family goat ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Super cute.

  • What a handsome little guy! ๐Ÿ™‚

He is so handsome ๐Ÿ™‚ Isn’t it amazing what those little ones soak up “That’s Not Fair” …you’re going to hear that A LOT in the coming years!

  • It’s fun to see how his little mind is whirring and processing and figuring things out now!

  • Such a sweet post. Boy how time flies.

  • How sweet! Love the black and white photos.
