The backseat of the car is where kids spend a great deal of their time. I should know- it wasn’t until I actually bought my first car that I finally moved to the front. Until then, I spent years smooshed into the back with my siblings, whether heading to school, social events, or going on long road trips (and I mean looong…we’d drive for twelve hours straight, sleeping in the car, and only make rest stops or take a break if we were hungry).
It helps if the backseat is comfy and fun for whoever is riding back there, and we definitely used our imaginations to come up with creative ways to pass the time enjoyably. Between silly songs and games, to hours just talking, we definitely bonded as we sat side by side in the backseat together.
Subaru is helping celebrate those fun moments in the back seat with a series of really funny videos featuring drivers’ favorite backseat stories, and I particularly loved this one:
The all-new 2014 Subaru ForesterⓇ makes life in the backseat a bit more fun, with lots of room for the kids or adults who aren’t driving, and didn’t manage to get shotgun. Watch some of these really cute videos, and join in the conversation with your own backseat stories for a chance to win $1,000!

Although the new baseline is now age two, the AAP has advised parents since 2002 to keep kids rear-facing until they reach the height or weight limit of their car seat. Why are parents so eager to turn their car seats?
