Late Nights After The Kids Are Asleep #BlackBoxWines

My husband and I started dating again. And by dating, I mean staying up after the kids are asleep to drink a glass of wine and chat together for a while. Because it’s been years since we could do this.

I sort of love the new phase of our marriage we are entering. We have the joy of being parents, yet our children aren’t infants anymore, so it’s no longer around the clock feeding and diaper changes, and they actually sleep through the night now. It’s a lot of fun for us, and as a result we are having a lot of fun together. Once the kidlets are in bed, we cuddle and watch tv and relax, and it’s fabulous.

In our new routine, we had the opportunity to discover Black Box Wines, an award winning line of boxed wines. Black Box Wines have won over 40 Gold Medals and 27 “Best Buys” from Wine Enthusiast and have garnered other accolades as well.

Of course the important question is, will I personally like it?

Someone once told me “The best wine in the world is the one you love”. Awards do not mean anything if you personally don’t like the wine. I always loved sweet wines, and just don’t have a taste for dry wines at all. I had the opportunity to enjoy three types of Black Box Wine with my husband:

  • 2012 Valle Central Chile Sauvignon Blanc – This is a refreshing and zesty wine featuring stone fruit aromas and has the sweetness of peaches with slight floral notes.
  • 2011 California Merlot – This wine displays aromas of leathery plums and cinnamon-spiced oak. The palate is smooth with sweet red currant flavors.
  • 2012 Coquimbo Region Chile Moscato – This medium bodied wine has sweet and luscious white floral notes and has a smooth palate of juicy peach and nectarine.
  • and the Moscato was such a great discovery because it’s exactly the type of wine I love. When I go into a wine store asking for something “sweet and fruity” I never receive a proper recommendation. Now that I found a wine I just love, I can enter the store with a name to ask for: Black Box Moscato.

I enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot as well, and found them to be wonderful, great choices to enjoy with my husband or if I’m having guests over for dinner. I’m not sure I would attend a party with boxed wine for the hostess, but I would certainly stock up on delicious Black Box wines for my own parties to serve guests, and the wine stays fresh for up to a month after opening.

It’s time to think inside the box. Available in ten delicious varietals and two sizes (3L and Tetra), Black Box Wine will have you ready to lose the bottle! Black Box Wines is perfect for all your summer gatherings!
