My husband is a police officer, and one of the first things he planned to buy himself for our new home was a safe where he could keep his weapon when he brings it home, safely away from our sons and anyone else. This thing is heavy (I’d love to see someone try to run off with it) and once we have it bolted to the floor, I’d say we are worry-free. We can even keep dvds and electronics inside without worry because of the fire and water protection.

The Fire File would also be good to have–there are a lot of papers that don’t need to be in a safe, but would be fairly difficult to replace, so a safe place for them would be a bonus.
