Sesame Street Recline ‘n Dine High Chair- Review

So far it’s only organic multi-grain cereal and sweet peas, but he is doing it! Little man is now eagerly eating solids like a champ. We aren’t sure which food we’ll try next, but we are happy we are having an easy time of it. So of course, we are now high chair shopping.

The Sesame Street high chair by Kolcraft is a solid and sturdy high chair. We love that it’s adjustable, the seat reclines, and the tray can be moved in and out (with one hand) or totally removed to reveal a smaller snack tray underneath. On each side of the high chair is a spot to hang a towel or wash cloth, and there is a nook in the back of the seat to store items you may need. There is a three-point safety harness attached to make sure he doesn’t climb out, as well as a center bar. It’s also easy to clean.

What we don’t like? The PVC seat padding. PVC is unsafe (a possible carcinogen) and it shouldn’t be used in products for children. We like this chair otherwise, and after finding our son constantly trying to mouth the pad (very bad- unhealthy and dangerous) because he found the characters on it entertaining and curious, decided to toss the padding altogether. If you decide to purchase this high chair (understandable at less than $50), we’d recommend replacing the padding, otherwise look for a high chair that is 100% safe for children.
