Ever been to Kissimmee Florida? I went once as a child with my family after we heard about their beautiful beaches and theme parks. I remember loving the name- Kissy Me Florida! It is near Orlando, our original destination (Disney World!) and after we had a blast with Mickey and his friends, we relaxed for a few days, swimming, sunning, and running around on the sand. We loved it so much we started to check out Kissimmee vacation homes for the future and even Kissimmee homes for us to actually move permanently. We never moved, but we almost bought one of the extravagant, elegant Kissimmee villas before my mom started to worry about hurricanes.
Since my husband prefers road trips, we are thinking of heading down there to the Barefoot’n Resort in Kissimmee or spending some time on Lake Kissimmee. When I went with my family we mainly stayed on the beach, but I would love to go horseback riding this time, take an airboat ride, or hike together as a family with me and hubby taking turn toting little man in a baby carrier. Ideally, I’d like to stay a full week, maybe spend a day visiting Universal Studios in Orlando, a second day trying out some water sports, a third day at SeaWorld and at least one day I’d like to hand little man over to hubby for a few hours and just lay out on the beach, enjoying the sun and quiet.
Of course, I’d love to try out the area restaurants too! The location of Kissemmee makes getting to other great places, like the Kennedy Space Center and Silver Springs, very easy as well, so you can pretty much have day after day of fun-filled activities that are totally different each day. My husband’s buddy works for the Kissimmee utility authority and suggests we check out the schools for our son, especially the Kissimmee Christian Academy. He believes that will clinch it for us.
