The Studio by Danielson Designs creates beautiful home decor and gifts that are designed by you…you pick the style, the sentiment/quote, and the recipient. This company (based in Trinidad, Colorado) does the rest. They began as a way of bringing employment to their town (all their products are made in the USA), so that children growing up there were not forced to leave the town they grew up to love in order to find work to make a living. I found this absolutely beautiful, and truly worthy of support.
When I was contacted by The Studio to do a review, I felt like it was fate, because I had been interested in a sign for my home with my favorite Bible quote (As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. ~Joshua 24:15) but wasn’t sure where to find one. These signs are beautiful and high quality, and they were able to both put my family name on the sign, and the Bible quote underneath it. The sign now hangs over our front doorway, letting all who go through it know our family motto.
What does The Studio offer? Besides beautiful family name signs, they also offer custom-designed frames and monograms, award plaques, and also have specialty categories. You choose the style you want, the color, and what you’d like it to say (they offer suggestions, such as famous quotes by Abraham Lincoln or Ralph Waldo Emerson that may be meaningful to you). They have styles that would appeal to young children in pretty colors and lovely patterns, and more sophisticated styles in a more classic look, to give as gifts for the holidays, to welcome new neighbors to the neighborhood, or to put over your own doorways.
The Studio is also an ethical and green company. They use 100% recycled wood for their signs, and water-based paints (no dangerous solvents to harm their workers or our environment), so that no trees are cut down for them to produce their beautiful home decor.
