♥ It’s Great To Be A Girl! ♥

ModernMom from How to Survive Life in the Suburbs has given me this cool award recently (both ModernMom and her blog are fun and swanky so it was a real treat to be picked by her). One of the rules of accepting the award is to link back to the blog that honored you, which is great because I have a chance to link back to a post of hers that I love and have been wanting to post about for a while…Life as a Girl! It made me think of the many reasons why it’s fabulous to be a girl, in addition to those she mentions. So here is my list of….

Why It’s ♥ GREAT ♥ To Be A Girl!!

♥ Girls can wear lots of pink without it raising any eyebrows. She can wear cherries on her clothes, or hearts, or bows. Men probably should not.

♥ Girls don’t have to struggle over opening jars, reaching high shelves, or carrying five bags of groceries if a man is around. A man would rather make a make-shift ladder or spend an hour with the jar under hot water than ask for help.

♥ Girls can have long pretty hair…if a man does, he risks getting called “miss” often. And pretty ringlets just don’t fly on a man. Nor does spending lots of time at the beauty parlor.

♥ A girl can ask her husband to deal with the intrusive neighbors or rude landlord…she can just say “They are mean to me!” and he’ll rush to her rescue.

♥ Women can get teary over small things, like a sad book or a kitty with a boo-boo. Men…can, but it doesn’t have the same effect.

♥ Women can fawn over a strangers baby without looking odd. Men kind of shouldn’t too much.

♥ Getting an attack of the giggles for a girl is contageous…if a man falls into a fit of giggles, other men around him look uncomfortable and kind of annoyed.

♥ Women can hide behind men when they hear a strange noise. If a man sends his wife to investigate with a bat…well, lol….

♥ A girl can put on a green face mask on, watch Fried Green Tomatoes and lounge in a fluffy robe. A man can too, but better not answer the door if the bell rings.

♥ Girls can declare they are tipsy, go to the bathroom in groups, or use the word “cute” in every sentence without being ostracized.

♥ If a girl breaks a nail, this garners proper sympathy. Men don’t get the same reaction.

It’s definately fun to be a girl, and there are zillions of perks. While I love and appreciate men (I have a great dad, brother and husband) I’d never want to be anything but a girl!

  • ModernMom

Love every single one of these! It is true that breaking a nail garners just the right amount of sympathy from our fellow women:)

Thanks so much for linking back to me too:)

Congratulations on your award (it's a really cool one!). I love your list of great things about being a girl. I agree, being a girl is AWESOME. So many perks. And what do the guys get? They can pee standing up and be admired for sleeping around. I'll pass, and gladly keep my Girls' Club Membership.

WOW!! And to think that I'm always saying that it's easier to be a guy.

Ohhh I just remembered, that a guy my bf knows used the word "hater" in a sentence, and now he is considered weird. WTFFFFFF

stopping by to let you know we have an updated SSS post up and hope you will stop by to read it

  • Sarah

Hey there! I'm visiting from the SSS and wanted to say hi! It is SO true, I'm happy to be a girl, we get to have so much fun and I feel blessed to have two little girls of my own!

  • Jojo

I know I'm sort of out of place here since this blog is about "girl" things. But I just want to comment on the saying that "in every man's success is a woman behind". I believe in this because what am I now and what I have achieved in life happened because of the support of my wife. I'm blessed that God gave me a very supportive and caring wife.

  • bigguysmama

Yah for your award! I liked this one the best about being a girl:

A girl can ask her husband to deal with the intrusive neighbors or rude landlord…she can just say "They are mean to me!" and he'll rush to her rescue.

    Blessings,
    Mimi

  • Penelope
