A family that loves movies is a family that loves movie night, and The Nut Job is a movie that is perfect for your family movie night. The Nut Job is an animated comedy filled with action and adventure that anyone, any age, can enjoy- and it sounds right up my alley.
On January 17th you can hit the theater with your crew to cheer on the mischievous squirrel Surly and his sidekick, Buddy the rat, as they attempt to fulfill their naughty plan of a major nut store heist! Obviously things don’t go as planned (do they ever when you are up to shenanigans?) and so the hilarity ensues. Character voices will be supplied by Will Arnett, Brendan Fraser, with Liam Neeson and Katherine Heigl.

Just A Nutter Healthy Trail Mix
I made a delicious and healthy trail mix that is perfect for the entire family, and a tasty way to celebrate the opening of The Nut Job. Enjoy it on road trips, as a snack on the go, anywhere!
Ingredients
1 cup almonds
1 cup cashews
1 cup dried cranberries
1 cup mini whole wheat pretzels
2 cups air popped popcorn
1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
Mix everything in a bowl, top with a dash of sea salt. You can pack it up in individual, air tight ziplock bags, one per family member, to enjoy a healthy snack. The almonds and cashews are a favorite for us, and we like things salty and sweet- cranberries and a small amount of dark chocolate mixed in with pretzels and sea salt takes care of that! It’s very healthy, even our two year old can enjoy it.
