He Pays Me In Kisses

Raising boys is quite an adventure, and it continues with a second son who is just an mischievous, charming, and adorable as the first.

My son kisses me. It took a long time, and he’s reaching many milestones at once it seems, but for some reason this one just melts me the most. He snuggles up to me, puts his little lips against my cheek, and presses them against me for a moment before pulling away and looking up at me proudly with a big smile, waiting for my approbation. Sometimes he’ll even make a kissy noise while doing it.

Totally melts me.

He is becoming a big boy, a toddler who tries to sing “Bah, Bah, Black Sheep”, wears pull up diapers, and even eats steak! And at the same time, is the sweetest, mildest baby who cuddles and laughs and plays peek a boo. At 16 months he is very curious though, like his older brother, and daring, so I have a feeling this is only the start of some very, very adventurous years with my two boys!

The best part is they are best buddies, and I hope my two sons will be best friends for the rest of their lives. They are close enough in age that so far it looks like we can encourage that and be hopeful for success…I would love them to still be best buddies in their teens, twenties, and way beyond! To always have each other…a mom’s dream.

And as long as they pay me in kisses, I feel well compensated for all my work around here.
