I’ve always considered myself a pretty lucky person. There were many times in my life where I was at the right place at the right time, and felt like I won a mini-lottery.
There was the time I overheard someone talking about an opening for a job I really wanted, and I had just quit my then-job on a whim to “see where the spirits would take me”…they took me right to my next job within a day, and I finally was doing something I loved.
Then there was the time I forgot my purse (which I never did before) and needed change to make a phone call, and a girl passing by on campus helped me out…today she is still my best friend. We traveled the world together and she was my maid of honor when I got married.
Of course, meeting my husband was probably the luckiest thing of all. I had just let the guy I was dating (nice as he was) know that he wasn’t for me, and the very next day started to volunteer at an organization to fill up my free time. Hubby was a volunteer there also, and the person assigned to train me…now, six happy years and two perfect sons later, I’d say that’s about as lucky as a person can get.
There are many other instances of what seems like serendipity in my life, and anytime the gods of good fortune want to shine down on me, I’m willing to accept it.
