Creepy Treats For Halloween Parties

This post brought to you by Mars candy. All opinions are 100% mine.

It’s that time of year again, the time where, for one day, adults get to act like kids, dressing up in costumes and gorging on treats. Every year I’m invited to a few different Halloween parties, and it’s definitely fun to see what people of all ages come up with for costumes.

I have never hosted a Halloween party myself, but that doesn’t stop me from bringing treats to the parties I go to. My favorite candies ever are Snickers and M&M’s, so of course I stock up on these this time of year. For the parties I attend, a dessert or treat with Snickers in it would be awesome, and I found this great recipe recently:

Creepy Creature Cookies

Ingredients:
1 roll cookie dough
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup flour
1 ½ cups chopped SNICKERS Bars
1 cup peanut butter
Vanilla frosting
3/4 cup M&M’s Candies
Spooky cookie cutters

Directions:

1. Knead the cookie dough with the cocoa powder and flour until smooth. This will keep the dough from spreading too much while baking.
2. Roll it out to 1/2-inch thickness. Using cookie cutters, cut out creepy shapes, cutting at least two cookies per creature. Transfer to a non-stick cookie sheet and bake in a preheated, 350°F oven for 12-14 minutes.
3. Once baked, remove and cool completely. In the meantime, make the creatures’ filling.
4. Combine SNICKERS® Bars with the marshmallow fluff. Spread the filling over one of each pair of creature cookies. Place the matching cookie on top.
5. Frost the tops of the creatures with the tinted vanilla frosting, and decorate randomly with M&M’S® Brand Minis Chocolate Candies.

I also love to make my M&M Blondies, which are a hit at parties, so this year I made a batch…we are ready for both trick or treaters and the parties!

mm blondies

We stocked up on bags of individually packaged M&M’s to pass out to trick or treaters, because it’s safer than loose or unwrapped candy, and we only trick or treat around our own neighborhood or at the homes of people we know for safety. Walmart is offering a $1 off coupon for Mars Halloween candy so you can stock up in time for Halloween this year.
