Figuring Out Baby’s Gender With A Chinese Gender Chart

Gender prediction has taken many forms over the centuries (and probably longer) and I’m not immune to the fun of trying to guess what I’m having before the doctor tells me. I used a Chinese Gender chart before my 20 week sonogram with little man, and it correctly predicted I was having a boy, so […]

  • We did this with both kids and it was right with Gav, wrong with Zoe.

  • Kathleen

That is so neat. I had heard of it briefly, but have never seen one or heard how to do it. Maybe I will have to try this for the surrogacy.

  • 1stopmom

This seems fun to try. If it worked once, maybe it will again!

  • Crystal @ Simply Being Mommy

    What are you hoping for?

  • Marcie W.

It was wrong for me twice, right for me once. Booo LOL

  • Kelly

It was right with my daughter and it’s predicting another girl. Only time will tell.

  • u can always look at it thsi way it honestly has a 50/50 chance of getting it right lol for me it was wrong with son #2 and write with son #3

  • Anne - Mommy Has to Work

I never heard of this one.

  • Terry (My Journey With Candida)

How cool is that?? When I was pregnantf a lady tied a string to a pencil and circled it over my stomach. I don’t remember if she was correct or not. Toooooo Many Years Ago!

  • Megan

This is right 50% of the time, lol! In my experience, wrong both times.

  • You actually have the strength to wait until the baby’s born to find out? I’m impressed! I wonder if the prediction will be accurate.

  • Virginia from That Bald Chick

I didn’t do any of the gender prediction tests with Mister. Since I had to have so many ultrasounds, we found out pretty quickly.

  • I’m done having babies…knock on wood, but that is really cool.

  • Dee @ Cocktails with Mom

That is quite interesting. I’ve never heard of this before.

  • Heather

I couldn’t even attempt this with Emma because I wasn’t sure if she was conceived at the end of March or beginning of April.

So you’re not going to find out before the big day?

  • Courtney

    interesting!

  • Sara

I’ll have to come find this again when I get pregnant!!!

  • Marianna

I remember checking this with all 3 of my pregnancies. For my first and second (twins) it said boy and was correct. For my 3rd pregnancy it said girl so between that and justa gut feeling I truly thought I was having a girl. Turns out my gut doesn’t know squat. It was still fun to check and 66% correct for me. 😉

  • Shop with Me Mama (Kim)

It was right with both my kids!!! Love that chart 🙂

  • Nolie

WRONG! Says Girl but 3D ultrasound shows boy clear as day.

  • Jessica

It was right both times for me. First a girl and then a boy

The Perfect Rib Eye Steak

Ribeye steak is one of my favorite cuts of steak because of its delicious flavor. It’s beef from the ribs, and you really don’t have to add much to it to make it delicious because it’s marbled and stays tender as long as you don’t overcook it. You can get a boneless cut or bone-in […]

  • Kathleen

Oh goodness. Now I am starving. There is nothing quite like a good steak.

  • That is so beautiful looking!!! But when you said it stays tender up to medium, it explained why I don’t like ribeyes. I like my meat done xxxxxxx-well.

  • Crystal @ Simply Being Mommy

    That looks delicious, Penelope!

  • Marcie W.

I would be scared to even touch a steak (SO not a good cook) but those look scrumptious!

  • April Decheine

Hmm, love rib eye! Looks amazing.

  • Megan

My husband saw this post from over my shoulder and now he HAS to have me make it for him. He’s such a steak man and rib eye is his favorite cut.

  • Virginia from That Bald Chick

    Looks delish!

  • Blond Duck

I took your advice! Check out my post mañana.

  • erin

    Yum! Love the simplicity!

  • Anne - Mommy Has to Work

i havent had steak in forever – this looks great!

  • Kelly

    Yum – I love steak!

  • 1stopmom

Wow, that is really easy. I have not done a lot of cooking in the broiler (not exactly sure what to do). I will have to try this. Thanks 🙂

  • Tricia Night Owl Mama

Looks delicious.. and yoru making me sooo hungry

  • Ava Roxanne

    Ribeyes are my fav!!!

    YUM!

    Ava Roxanne

  • Sam

    Mmmm…I love steak.

  • Eschelle

sooo goood looking!! gonna have to take out steaks for dinner now lol!!

  • Anne

Great tips, I always have trouble cooking steaks.

  • Dee

I also think a good ribeye is the best steak. Don tells everyone he doesn’t need to go to a restaurant for a steak dinner because I make a steak that will rival the best steak houses in the area.

  • Shop with Me Mama (Kim)

I love me a good rib eyed steak, mmmm 🙂

  • Hubby loves steak. I like them but rather eat chicken. He is also a big fan of rib eye steaks! These look good:)

  • This recipe sounds great!

  • We love ribeyes and usually grill them.

Celebrity Engagement Rings

For fun, we wanted to share some beautiful celebrity engagement rings. My husband chose a simple 1.5 carat round diamond solitaire for mine, in a 6-prong gold setting (just what I wanted), but glamorous celebrities tend to like their engagement rings much more extravagant (and large) than my classic style. Here are some of their […]

  • Sam

We have the same taste in rings. I love Scarlett’s and Katie’s rings too.

  • Jg. for FatScribe

that was very cool to see. thank you for gathering these pics into one place. there is some serious money invested in these rings (down payment on a house?)!

  • Louise

Not that I’m a big jewelry person or anything but they sure do look great!

  • Anne - Mommy Has to Work

Mine was a little tiny thing! LOL.

I like the pink diamond, I’ll take that one!

  • 1stopmom

I don’t have an engagement ring. I am not a big jewelry person, but I like it when it is simple and understated.

  • Kenda

I love beautiful, ornate rings – but I think I’d be scared to wear them! It’s no wonder some of the rich and famous have replicas made so they can keep the real deal safe at home.

  • Penelope

I didn’t know they wore copies.

  • Megan

I have the round cut one carat diamond with half carats around it in white gold. White gold is my favorite and I love the classic look.

  • {Not Quite} Susie Homemaker

Scarlett’s is pretty close to my dream ring- which makes sense because her {ex}husband is pretty close to my dream man, too! 🙂

  • Shop with Me Mama (Kim)

Those are some pretty rings. I am like you, I don’t care for Penelopes though (LOL, not you! haaha)

  • Anne

I like colored stones, not diamonds.

  • LRW

I preferred a low setting in a frame, not a prong because I use my hands a lot. I hated the feeling of bumping it! These celebrities, however, probably don’t lift a finger. I like Katie Holmes’s ring-looks simply elegant.

However, to me, the beauty of the ring tends to be unimpressive as their marriages end. Show me someone who’s been married for twenty years with no engagement ring at all, and I’ll give them props!

  • Courtney

They’re all beautiful.. I love simplistic over drastic.

  • Dee

I received a 1.5 carat square princess cut with 4 channel set diamonds on each side. White gold. After I received it I noticed it went so well with my mom’s anniversary ring that I asked Don if I could use that as my wedding band and he agreed.

  • Jessica

I love the colored stones! I have a 1 1/2 carat blue sapphire with rows of diamonds and sapphires coming off the side.

  • Crystal @ Simply Being Mommy

Those are some lovely rings, that’s for sure.

Beautiful Sandals For Every Shoe Loving Gal

I have a sexy shoe addiction. Who doesn’t? Collecting beautiful shoes can be expensive though, so what’s a gal to do? How about checking out fibi & clo, a Texas-based company that makes stylish, gorgeous flats perfect for this city gal to stroll around Manhattan in on a warm spring or summer day. Fibi & […]

These are adorable – great for the city!! I’m hoping for a DSLR. We’ll see!

  • Shop with Me Mama (Kim)

Oh heavens, I seriously have not even thought about Christmas for my kids or me and hubs yet. Only for the blog. LOL. That is not good!

  • Virginia from That Bald Chick

Now those are cute. I love flats that don’t show toe cleavage. I always feel so nekkid with toe cleavage!

  • Dee

I love ballet flats and those look so comfortable.

  • 1stopmom

Those are a good idea. Something to just keep in your purse. My daughter likes to wear heels but has wished she had a pair of these after a few hours, lol.

  • Crystal @ Simply Being Mommy

Those are adorable. I totally need a pair.

The Cosmo From Amy Michelle

Moms everywhere are on the hunt for the perfect diaper bag- something that fits everything, doesn’t weigh you down, keeps you organized, and doesn’t look like a diaper bag! Gone are the days of women accepting quasi-luggage or Winnie the Pooh decorated bags as acceptable new-mom fashion- we are hot mamas and we want to […]

Nice diaper bag! Oh man I remember what I use to carry, to funny!

  • Virginia from That Bald Chick

That does not LOOK like a diaper bag. How cute.

  • Dee @ Cocktails with Mom

Why didn’t they make diaper bags like that when my kids were young. I would have totally rocked that.

  • Dee @ Cocktails with Mom

Why didn’t they make diaper bags like this when my kids were young? I would have totally rocked that.

  • Crystal @ Simply Being Mommy

Oh, I love that diaper bag. Super cute and stylish.

  • Terry (My Journey With Candida)

Diaper bags have sure come a long way from when I had little ones. Years ago, you could spot a diaper bag miles away.

  • Alison

That is one fab diaper bag!!! Wouldn’t be sad carrying that one around.

I must also comment that you have a nice tush. 😛

  • Megan

It’s so pretty and can be used as a purse after the baby is bigger. I love it!

  • Penelope

Lol, thanks 🙂 Totally luv you!

  • Shop with Me Mama (Kim)

I LOVE that diaper bag, wow!! Now that is fashion. I will definitely look into these bags when I get pregnant iwith number 3!

  • Kelly

That is such a chic, stylish bag! There’s no way that looks like a diaper bag!
