20 Ways To Live A More Simple Life

The allure of living a slow and simple life draws most of us from time to time, yet we can’t seem to slow down and just live each moment. We are so busy we do not have time to simply relax and enjoy the life we have. We say we have priorities, somehow everything else […]

I LOVE this post! So true and that last quote is so absolutely true!!

  • Barbara Platt

I only do a few of those and don’t see a chance of things changing

  • Rebekah {honeyandcheese}

Lovely reminder. At this moment, my husband and I have our time priorities in order, but I’m working on paring down the “stuff,” so I don’t spend so much time looking for things, maintaining things, and being visually overwhelmed. This is good motivation – thanks for sharing!

  • Donna

Great tips! I need to work on saying “no” without apologies or explanations.

  • Crystal Gibson

This is a great post! We have to have a routine or nothing would ever get done. I am also a list maker. I am going to share this, for sure.

  • Kelly

These are such great rules to live by! I just pared down my friend’s list on Facebook because all of the people that I really didn’t know to begin with or that stress me out, need to go. Then there’s the Internet which is both a blessing for easy communication, working, and information and a curse because it can distract us from the most important things like family and friends.

  • Jessica

These are wonderful! I’ve started sticking to a bedtime and waking up a bit earlier and I love it. I feel so much happier when I’m well rested and have the morning to ease into the day rather than rushing straight to my work. Of course, this is much easier when you don’t have children, I’m sure. =)

  • I really need to get back to the simple life and planning healthy meals

  • Alison

I have trouble with the saying no part. I’m trying to work on it though.

  • Marcie W.

I not only agree with these, I adore them! So true and everyone should be forced to re-read this once a week

  • Laurie

These are wonderful, now if everyone would live by them, I think they would be happier.

  • Brandi

    Such a great post!

  • Great, great tips!

  • Great tips as always. There are a few I need to work on. I am always trying to please others and forget about myself

  • Courtney

    Wonderful tips!

  • ohkeeka [The Type A Housewife]

It can be so hard to take a step back and pare things down a little, but it’s so essential. I think society conditions us to think that the busier we are, the better & more worthy we are, but having free time and contemplative moments is important too!

  • Annie @ Mama Dweeb

I love these!! They are wonderful! My favs are “make a menu” (which really helps a TON) and “don’t waste time helping people who are ungrateful.” There really are so many people in the world that need our time, there is no reason to give to someone that won’t appreciate it! “Don’t throw your pearls to the swine!”

  • Tesa @ 2 Wired 2 Tired

These are great tips. I need to take more of these to heart. I’d love to live more simply. I especially need to remember to let things go more often – dwelling on them does no good.

  • I’ve simplified things so much over the years, and where I really notice it is over Christmas. Also, I have no debt anymore!

  • David Bueford

The pictures themselves speak a thousands words of serenity.

  • denny

    Good stuff!!!!

  • These are all such great tips!

because i’m almost five months pregnant….

Almost five months pregnant, and while this time around there just isn’t the same fanfare there was when I was pregnant with little man, I still have all the same symptoms of pregnancy. Because I’m almost five months pregnant…I have major pregnancy cravings. I crave blt’s (but who doesn’t?). I love these things- I make […]

For what it is worth, you are still gorgeous and that english muffin looks delicious!

  • Kelly

You’re so cute! I love the hair and the belly shots! I think you kind of look like Molly Sims in that pic of the hair. And my husband says our bellies look about the same so I must look 7 months pregnant too. Although my dental hygenist couldn’t tell I was pregnant and my friends say they wouldn’t have known if I hadn’t told them but I think they’re all lying. (I’m keeping the typo on hygienist because I’m too lazy to delete and retype everything.)

  • Jessica

Penelope you look amazing! How’s Little Man handling everything?

  • Courtney

I crave blt’s and I’m not even preggo.. Yum! You look great – and so tiny!

  • You do NOT look seven months pregnant….I think you look great!

  • 1stopmom

Awww, look at your baby bump 🙂

  • Anne - Mommy Has to Work

You look perfect!! And your belly does not look 7 months!!

  • Alison

I love your belly! And your just gorgeous still!!

  • Tammy

Ah just think – it’s half over already – that’s both a happy and sad thought all at the same time isn’t it?

  • Brandi

So cute! You look adorable. That BLT looks soooo good!

  • Kasandria Reasoner

You are an ADORABLE 5 months pregnant!
    Kas

  • I don’t think you look 7 months pregnant. When I was pregnant with my son, my father in law used to take me to my chiropractor appointments. When I was about 6 or 7 months along, he started asking all the people in the waiting room every time we went if they thought I was having twins.

Words Of Gratitude

  • Louise

I think it’s so important to teach your children how to save money.

  • Shop with Me Mama (Kim)

  • Amit

Great Tips! Thnx so much for your sharing. ((Hugs))

  • Tammy

My son is great for saving money, but my daughter isn’t.

  • Joanne Cipressi

Great tips Penelope! Saving money is an important lesson for children. 🙂

  • I have always felt like my parents did a poor job of this and it took me years to figure out how to be financially responsible. I made sure my kids were better prepared. Great tips!

  • Faythe @ GrammyMouseTails

Lots of great ideas & tips, Penelope! I did have to work harder with my oldest son and when he left home he was quite resposible. The youngest caught on pretty quickly & they had a class in 1st grade on money & what each peice is worth, his teacher told us he was the first one to grasp the idea…. he is still great with managing & saving. He did have to teach his wife to balance a check book when they first married tho!! LOL

  • Marcie W.

We’re trying to start them young as well. They get a weekly allowance and have savings accounts. Great tips!

  • those are great tips – it’s never too soon to start teaching your kids how to save and spend smartly.

  • Emily

Useful tips! It’s so important to teach kids about money especially now when people are spending money they don’t have.

  • Kelly

These are such great tips! I see so many adults that have no concept of money because their parents never bothered to teach them. I’m definitely not making that mistake!
