Wendy’s + The New York Yankees = Home Runs for Forever Homes

This post was sponsored by Wendy’s as part of a Social Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.

It’s been years since I first tried Wendy’s chili, but ever since I was hooked, and a fan for life. Wendy’s is the only faster food place my family eats, because even though I wish I could cook every meal at home, I just can’t, and Wendy’s is always ready to help this mama out with fresh, delicious meals. We are always trying new things from their menu, and I have more than one favorite (love the burgers, the chicken, the salads too!), but recently I tried the Southwest Avocado Chicken Salad. Suffice to say, I have to new favorite thing, and it’s healthy too.

We have a couple of Wendy’s near our home, with friendly staff and fireplaces, and any time I’m super, super busy I just go through the drive through and pick up some food for my boys to eat as I drive. My standard favorite was either a Taco Salad or a Spicy Chicken Sandwich, but I definitely mix it up, especially when I see new items on the menu. Everything is always fresh- crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, juicy chicken, and more, and it’s a major time-saver. I probably stop by at least twice a week. It’s always a treat when we go, both for the boys and for my husband (who will give an audible “Yippy!” when I tell him it’s a Wendy’s dinner… his favorite items on the menu are the Dave’s Triple Hamburger and now the Southwest Avocado Chicken Sandwich).

There are many tasty items on Wendy’s menu, including summer specials like the Southwest Avocado Chicken Salad and premium beverages. The menu is affordable and if we just went to a game or are having a late day, it’s a great way to end it without me being tied up in the kitchen. Wendy’s is also partnering with the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, which I learned about while reading my beverage cup. Famous Dave who started it all was adopted, and his story of being adopted into a family is what inspired him to want to start a family restaurant… it’s the reason we all get to eat at Wendy’s today. It’s really easy to help too- just unlock the SnapCode on the packaging and $5 will be donated on your behalf by Wendy’s.

Home Runs for Forever Homes

Everytime I think of a child finding their forever home, it makes me tear up. What is more wonderful than discovering your forever family? That is what the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption does, and currently Wendy’s is hosting a Text-To-Win Sweepstakes from June 1 through August 31 for the chance to win Yankees tickets. The partnership with the Yankees includes the Home Runs for Forever Homes donation campaign in which Wendy’s will donate $100 to to benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption for every home run hit by the Yankees in the 2018 season… I’ll be cheering them on more strongly than ever!

Stop by your local Wendy’s to enter to win the Text-To-Win Sweepstakes. The information on how to enter the contest (the sweepkeys and short code) are only printed on materials displayed in the restaurants, such as the tray liners and bag stuffers. I may just see you at a Yankees game soon!

And try the Southwest Avocado Chicken Salad. It’s a delicious combination starting with a bed of chopped lettuce topped with freshly grilled chicken breast, diced tomatoes, creamy avocado, applewood smoked bacon, Southwest ranch dressing, and shredded pepper jack cheese to provide a little kick. It’s incredible! Find the full menu at Wendy’s.
