A Yummy Anytime Snack + An Oatmeal Banana Smoothie Recipe + A Giveaway

I participated in Mom Blog Tour at the Summer Fancy Food Show on behalf of Wendy’s Bloggers and received McCann’s Irish Oatmeal products to facilitate my review.

Breakfast is an important meal to start the day, and after discovering how easy it is to make a really yummy and quick breakfast with McCann’s Irish Oatmeal® on the #MomBlogTourFF, it’s become part of our daily routine. In fact, I’ve started making their traditional steel cut oatmeal during the day as a snack too because I love the taste and texture.

McCann’s Irish Oatmeal is available in microwavable on-the-go cups that are ideal for lunches, days when meals need to be quick and easy, etc. The variety of flavors include Original, Vanilla Honey, Apple Cinnamon, and Maple + Brown Sugar (the Maple + Brown Sugar is my favorite- it’s so tasty it is unreal). The traditional steel cut oats are also available in tins or cartons and can be made as a simple oatmeal, or as a great base for adding your own flavors and including in favorite recipes.

McCann’s Irish Oatmeal is high in fiber and offers gluten-free options. It’s also very versatile. I discovered it’s a great addition to my morning smoothie that is both filling and tasty, while adding some consistency to my usually too watery smoothies.

The texture makes it so much thicker and more enjoyable to drink. I feel like I’ve eaten breakfast, instead of just drinking something before heading out for the day, and don’t know what took me so long to realize how perfect McCann’s Irish Oatmeal is as a smoothie ingredient.

I also love to make some oatmeal and pour a little honey on top, and just sit back and relax to watch a movie. It’s tastier than popcorn!

I eat oatmeal for breakfast every morning and my favorite combination is diced apples, raisins, candied pecans, cinnamon, nutmeg and maple syrup. Its my take on apple pie. I also have my own twists on Blueberry Buckle, Carrot Cake, Bananas Foster, Chocolate Raspberry Truffle and The ELVIS (Peanut Butter, Banana & Bacon)!
