My Morning Coffee Audiobooks Playlist Recommendations

Easy breezy mornings that are simple and start the day on the right foot are a forever goal of mine, because how we start off in the morning tends to set the mood for the day. The first thing of course is always my morning cup of coffee. I actually start looking forward to the taste of it as I’m dozing off the night before.

My favorite coffee creamers are from International Delight, and recently discovering that they introduced a new line of clean label coffee creamer, Simply Pure, with only five ingredients, made me simply, purely happy. Simply Pure in every flavor contains only skim milk, cane sugar, cream, and less than 2% of natural flavor and guar gum. That’s it.

Simply Pure coffee creamers are available in three flavors, Vanilla, Caramel, and Hazelnut, and all are already sweetened and ready with milk and cream, and a flavor that enhances that morning cup. No extra steps or spoons or measuring. Simple.

For a few minutes each morning, I relax with my hazelnut coffee and my audiobooks. Ok, more like 30 minutes, but who’s counting? I’ve become addicted to listening to funny or self improvement audiobooks when I get ready in the morning, go for my jogs, or drive, and I love it! I don’t feel like I’m falling behind on my reading list, am up to date on the latest hit book from a comic actress or rebellious reality show star, and it’s simply a fun way to pass the time for a bit before I have to do something not so fun.

Best Audiobooks To Enjoy During Morning Coffee

1. Mindy Kaling’s “Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?” – my new favorite person and total girl crush. She is so funny! I also get her (was raised the same way and think the same way) so hearing her chatter every morning while I sip and plan out my day feels like I have a girlfriend over to visit.

2. “I Didn’t Come Here To Make Friends- Confessions of a Reality Show Villain” by Courtney Robertson – because sometimes you just want to hear the behind-the-scenes gossip about your favorite shows, and arm yourself with knowledge on how to not be the villain when you get accepted onto a reality show 😂

3. Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen (narrated by Rosamund Pike) – I love this book, it’s my favorite book ever. A lot of women say that, so I don’t need to convince you of anything other than the reading by the lovely Mrs. Pike really brings the book to life. She does every character well.

4. Harry Potter (any book in the series) – I actually listen to these in the car on the way to bringing my kids to school in addition to during my coffee breaks, because my boys love these as much as I do. The narration is amazing, and it’s a way to reread favorite books without stopping my day- I just don’t have time to read 1,000 page books anymore. But I can listen to them while I do something else, and the kids are remarkably quiet during drives while listening to these instant classics. Simple peace.

5. First, Kill All The Marriage Counselors by Laura Doyle – a funny marriage book that gives actually useful advice (like don’t spend $200 a week to point out all your spouse’s faults to a stranger and think that will improve your relationship or make your husband or wife happy to be married to you, but instead use that money to make you less grouchy by doing things that are happy-making, like getting hot stone massages and Simply Pure). You will feel like you’re sitting with a group of long-married wise ladies sharing awesome anecdotes about love and life.

It may seem like my multi-tasking is the anti-relaxation, but it’s not. When I’m alone in the morning, I feel like I have company listening to my audiobooks, especially when they are so funny or narrate like a friend is chatting, and I start the day in a cheerful mood, sipping my hazelnut coffee and laughing along with Mindy.

If you haven’t discovered Simply Pure coffee creamers yet, you must… you simply must. They taste great, and like a good audiobook, make mornings so much better.
