Six Months Pregnant

I don’t really post about my life much (because how interesting can the details of my days be to others?) but a once a month seems like an ok interval to indulge a post in chatting about myself. I’m officially six months pregnant, and have the watermelon belly to prove it:

Today I’ll be taking the glucose test, and considering how much I’ve been eating and gaining, I’m a little leery about the results. I eat a LOT. I eat healthy, such apples and salads and chicken breast, but I can eat five apples, three salads, and two or three pieces of chicken breast in a sitting. And then snacks before the next meal, and then a huge meal again. I’ve been using Save My Skin Stretch Mark Minimizing Oil most recently to prevent stretch marks, a spray that has cocoa butter and a zillion natural oils like safflower, grapeseed, sesame, lanolin, and avocado, plus retinal, which is great for skin repair. So far, aside from a teeny mark above my belly button that looks like it might be a stretch mark (red, shiny lines), or a scratch, I don’t think I’ve been afflicted, but I slather on a lot of stretch mark oil twice a day (and I mean a lot) so that may have something to do with it.

We found out we are having a boy, which means my husband gets to pick the name again, and little man is going to have a buddy (and we’ll save a lot of money because we saved all of his clothes and shoes). I’m really excited about it, I was hoping for another boy, another little man. So now I’m going to be a woman with three men to take care of, and I plan to raise my sons to be little gentlemen. We recently took little man to a fantasy Christmas Land, where, after meeting Coco the Bouncer Parakeet, we found a medley of fabulous, fairy tale creatures that delighted our son:

Recently, I’ve enjoyed myself stumbling (if you look at my stumble upon profile, you’ll see I love crafts, recipes, beauty blogs, quotes, and relationship sites…hmm, sound familiar?) and I’m guessing my desire to view blog posts all day about cooking comfort foods and cozying up the home is my nesting instinct kicking in (plus, food and homemaking are just really fun for me, because Donna Reed is my idol).

So that’s it for my life for now…until next month’s update!

I love your belly Penelope! It’s so much fun to have 2 boys. Though I think I may be slowly going insane at the same time. Like this morning. Haha. But I love that Bouncer at Christmas Land. Too cute. 🙂

Your so funny! I am lucky never getting any stretch marks at all, I looked like I swallowed a watermelon too, my nick name with all three was Ethiopian. Not nice I know.. I did rub Coco Butter on my belly daily 🙂 Congratulations on your upcoming baby!!

Thanks for posting! I was just wondering how you and the family were enjoying the holidays and hoped you were doing well. Your belly is amazing and I love that you’re still staying chic when you could totally be donning a muumuu and diving into some unhealthy food. All the best to you and the boys 1, 2 and 3.

Your belly is too cute!! Congratulations on the boy! So exciting, I’m also scared of getting stretch marks. I’m doomed because they’re genetic and everyone in my family has them..
