Amazon Latest Generation Kindle eReader Lighted Cover (vLog Review) #Technology

If you have the Amazon Kindle latest generation model, you may be one of many who encountered problems with freezing and reloading. I had to have mine replaced after the first one turned off and wouldn’t turn back on, and found myself having the same issues with the second. It turns out the leather Kindle covers (non-lighted) are the culprits.

Those little hooks that connect and hold the Kindle in place actually did some wonky things inside the Kindle, causing it to freeze and reload almost daily, and was eating up the battery life. Amazon realized this and is giving everyone who had this problem a refund for the defective covers, and are replacing them with the lighted Kindle covers (which are awesome because they allow you to read at night after you turn all the lights off- something I haven’t been able to do until now).

I was very disappointed in the latest generation Kindle (after giving it a good review) but now that the issue has been recognized and rectified, I love my Kindle again. Check out my vLog above to see how the new cover lights the Kindle for you. (Ever notice how YouTube always freezes on the most unflattering pic?)

Great Vlog and looks like a very nice case!

  • I’m just glad you found a solution!

  • Shop with Me Mama

First of all, you are totally adorable 🙂 Secondly, seems like a really cool case. I like how bright that little light was. Does it cause glare on the screen though?

Great V-log and review. I need to look up for one of these on Amazon:) I am now following you.
    Happy Friday!

  • I don’t have one of those, but that would be cool! Good investigating to find the problem.

LOL – I thought you looked a little stressed on the ‘freeze frame’ 🙂

Nice to know they understand what was causing the issues and that they’re replacing it for you – my husband has a kindle and he loves it, no lighted cover here, so he can’t use it in bed but then he’s usually snoring when the lights are out anyway 🙂

I know! I don’t know how to change what pic they freeze on- I look scary!

  • Nolie

That is so cool. Wish they had those for the Kobo. Yet another reason to get myself a Kindle.

I don’t have a Kindle, but this looks like a nice cover. And I believe you can change the picture that Youtube puts for the opening freeze frame…go take a look in your account:)

  • That does look pretty cool! Thanks for the review!

This Kindle Lighted Cover is excellent and well designed, however it is very expensive. It is almost as much as a Kindle itself. Would be interested to hear your comments on whether you think.
    Many thanks

This Kindle Lighted Cover is excellent and well designed, however it is very expensive. It is almost as much as a Kindle itself, my website offers a very similar product at a fraction of the cost at £17.95, which is much more reasonable I think you will agree. Would be interested to hear your comments on whether you think.
    Many thanks

Great review! Maybe I should get one of these. Would be good for when I’m nursing Landon back to sleep at night but want to read. Better than holding a pen light in my mouth aimed at the Kindle LOL.
