Hispanicize 2017

Hispanicize 2017 is right around the corner, and it’s going to be incredible this year. The line-up of speakers are phenomenal, and in addition to getting a chance to network, meet over 3,000 other bloggers, trend-setters, and entrepreneurs, and learn so many new things, it’s just going to be plain fun.

Hispanicize 2017 is happening April 3-6, 2017, and connects Latino digital creators, trendsetters in tech and entertainment, marketing executives, and more for a five day multi-industry program that is a launch pad for creative endeavors, new products, technologies, marketing campaigns, films, books and more.

I’m going as a Digital Influencer Correspondent and can’t be more excited! In addition to the many events I am excited to attend and share with you, I’m looking forward to the award ceremonies. The Positive Impact Awards were created to honor the late Louis Pagan, a co-founder of Hispanicize known for his kindness and commitment to giving the community a voice, and there are so many big-hearted Latinas who are making a difference in their communities. This is our chance to honor them and thank them. I am so proud of them!

The Tecla Awards honor excellence in U.S. Latino online video, blogging, media, and marketing, so will highlight those we should keep an eye on in the next year. They take place on the last day of Hispanicize 2017 and shouldn’t be missed.

Learn and grow

The second annual DiMe Summit is also happening starting April 3rd, offering influencers a more intimate venue for in-depth workshops teaching skills in photography, shooting and editing videos, branding, creative writing, and much more- this is where attendees can really pick up tricks to help them grow, learn new skills, or consider where to take their business in the next year (and how to reach new demographics).

And finally, the CMO Summit features CMOs and senior multicultural marketing executives from top brands and companies giving keynote speeches about pressing U.S. Hispanic Market industry trends and topics, including the evolution of U.S. Hispanic digital marketing. There are so many changes happening, and there is no better way to understand the market and trends than to hear it from leaders in communication and marketing.

I’m going to Hispanicize for the first time this year, and for those of you who are also attending for the first time, here are my tips based on past influencer events:

Tips for Attending Your First Hispanicize

1. Read up on everything that will be happening before you go, so you can plan your schedule and maximize your time. If there is a keynote or session that can help you in an area could use a little strengthening up in, make sure to go and learn some tips! You can find the schedule and updates for Hispanicize 2017 here.

2. Reach out and make friends. There are lots of attendants who are coming for the first time, or traveling alone, so don’t be shy. Chat with others, exchange information (bring your business cards and make sure your social media accounts are on it), and support each other when you see your new friends sharing their #Hispz17 adventures. After Hispanicize 2017 is over, you will still have some great new contacts and friends.

3. Pack for the weather and for different events. There are more casual sessions focused on learning, and events that offer a chance to network, so mix it up and bring a variety of outfits appropriate for different things.

4. Bring a camera with extra batteries and memory cards, and a notebook… you’ll want to capture the memories, both with pictures and journaling it all. It’s fun and exciting to get together with amazing people in your industry, who knows who you will meet or what will happen? Be ready for anything!

Hispanicize can be life-changing
