A Fun Printable Checklist For A Happier You In 2016 #NewYearsResolutions

Resolutions, life changes, self-improvement… this is what’s on the mind of many of us this time of year. We look at where we are, and think about what we’d like to improve. After the warmth of the holidays we feel inspired, and ready to hit the ground running. We start the year with hopes and goals, and a new outlook.

Inspired to be a better you

The most popular New Year Resolutions tend to be focused on being healthier and refocusing on what’s important in life. We want more sleep, we want to eat better, we want to start exercising more, we want to take some time to just enjoy life. We say it each year, but it can be hard to keep track of it all and stay motivated, so somewhere around the second or third month we start falling into old habits again, and neglect ourselves.

Since there are those basic things we should all do to feel better each day, I created a printable graphic checklist that covers those important basic, to help remind me (and you) to get these simple yet important things done each day. To take better care of ourselves. We’re worth it! Just 5 simple things each day for a great start to better health, better days, and a better 2016.

Today, did you do these five things?

Make each day a good day with our checklist

Each day we should drink 8 glasses of water, get at least 30 minutes of exercise, eat some fruit and veggies, do something that makes us feel good and happy, and make sure we get enough sleep! This printable is a great way to remember to do it all.

I put my “Today…” printable in a magnetized plastic cover frame because it’s perfectly sized (8.5″ x 11″) and sticks to my fridge, and I see it every morning when I wake up. I can check off what I do on the protective plastic cover with a dry erase marker to keep track.

Before I go to bed, I wipe it clean, then sit with a cup of International Delight Hot Chocolate or Nog and relax after a day well lived. I can’t do everything, but I can at least do what’s on my “Today…” check list, and know I’m taking care of myself and heading in the right direction. And ending the day sitting quietly, reading a book, and sipping my favorite holiday beverage – hot chocolate! – is my way of bringing on the happy.
