A Myrtle Beach Family Vacation #Travel

Family vacations are some of the best memory-making parts of our lives, so we wanted to make sure to have a getaway this year. With a 3 and a 5 year old, family travel can be difficult, so we pre-planned a trip that would be as fun as possible…and it was even better than we’d hoped.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is a fabulous family travel destination, with beautiful, expansive beaches of clear blue water and sandy coasts, lots of fun attractions for all ages, and great eateries.

My Myrtle Beach Family Vacation

The Beach

We stayed at the Embassy Suites Oceanfront Resort at Kingston Plantation, which was right on the beach. RIGHT ON THE BEACH.

For our little guy, it was the first time at the beach, and the clean, clear sands with scattered tiny pretty shells thrilled him.

The beaches of Myrtle Beach were so beautiful and clean, with people happily attempting to surf and paddleboard everywhere. Lots of families, couples, everyone having a great time. Embassy Suites provided chairs and umbrellas for no extra cost, which was typical of them…a lot of amenities are included for free for the comfort of the guests.

I handed the camera to my husband for a shot to prove that I (always the one behind the lens) was there too…

The Pools

Our room had beautiful views of the beach and pools during the day and night.

There were amazing pools that we enjoyed often, including several larger pools of various sizes and shapes, kiddie pools, and a waterpark area with multiple activities and a wading river. The waterpark area is outdoors and a children’s paradise- they don’t want to leave! That gets its own post, along with other fun things to do with kids in Myrtle Beach, because there was really just so much. We took breaks from our pool playing and relaxing time to enjoy other parts of Myrtle Beach on our family vacation (much to my sons’ chagrin) and our stay was simply fabulous.

The Hotel

The Embassy Suites Oceanfront Resort at Kingston Plantation recently underwent a multimillion dollar renovation to update it, and everything was fabulous.

There was room service or the hotel restaurant, and each morning there was a breakfast buffet for all guests that offered everything you could possibly want for breakfast, like made to order omelettes, biscuits and muffins and donuts and french toast, eggs and bacon and sausages and oatmeal and tator tots, various cereals, multiple juice stations, coffee and tea stations, fruits, and a lot more. The staff was attentive and obliging from the very beginning, and we appreciated such great service. Everything was always clean and impeccable, there was a Starbucks in the main lobby and a gift shop right next to it that provided us with all our coffee, sunblock, and flip flop needs. I even loved the powder blue and white beach towels offered liberally to all guests at the pools, and the Cape Code style decor for the furniture in the room.

The hotel was generous when providing comforts and conveniences, and pretty much nothing carried an extra fee, including the beach chairs and umbrellas, entrance to the waterpark, and on demand transportation via shuttle to many local restaurants throughout the day and evening. It was amazing…this is the place to stay when you visit Myrtle Beach. Great rooms, food, service, pools and the beach practically at your front door. The Embassy Suites Oceanfront Resort has it all.
