Home Accents For The Living Room

When you furnish your home, you tend to think in matching sets, but sometimes you just want to mix it up a little bit with different pieces you love. Or you have a bit of a bohemian heart and like the eclectic look. Or you simply fall in love with a rogue piece that you don’t know where to fit but just want to have in your home.

When I walk around Raymour & Flanigan, this happens to me all the time. I don’t necessarily know where everything might fit into our home, but as I walk around and draw it all in, I find it hard to not start imagining where this or that piece could go because I just must have it.

Raymour & Flanigan offers a lot of accent pieces, whether it’s artwork, a stunning table lamp, or an accent chair that needs to find a home in your home. Whether you add a beautiful new piece to your current sets, or make a totally new look by mixing and matching, it all works.

I love the Torino accent chair (why yes, that is the same one you see above in the showroom). I passed by it, and kept passing by it, because while I couldn’t yet envision quite where it would go, I knew it belonged somewhere in my home. Those Boka nesting tables are now being used as end tables because that makes them even more versatile and space friendly in our home, and I knew I couldn’t live without them so thought a little outside the box to make them work.

Raymour & Flanigan makes versatile furniture pieces that can be used for so many things, and these accent pieces are all perfect example. Those Riverside Swing-Arm Table Lamps? Perfect for readers like me…so classic and simple and the arm swings out to bring light closer to you. Doesn’t that make a beautiful little reading nook? Sitting comfortably on the Torina chair, with the Riverside’s swing arm swung out to light your favorite book, and a cup of hot tea or cocoa sitting on the Boka end table for you to sip on while you relax.

When it comes to area rugs, I usually go traditional, and lately I’ve gotten a little bored with that. I wanted something different, and beautiful, and soothing for the room we all relax together in to chat and enjoy coffee after dinner, and so I went a different way than my typical first instinct and found this gorgeous area rug with gold leaves weaved onto a soft blue backdrop. The serene atmosphere is evokes in our living room is amazing.

The trunk below is the Saddler trunk, and it’s seating, storage, and a coffee table all in one. It stores a lot, and act as a coffee table that matches my soon-to-be-delivered Saddler sofa. The nail stud trim and quilted leather are stunning, and I love that it doubles either as a spot for up to three to sit on (or one to lay on while reading) or a place to serve from…a very cool looking coffee table.
