The Family Launch Pad – An Organized Start To Your Day

Having a great day often requires little more than simple organization, and a lack of it can really start us off on the wrong foot. Not getting ready ahead of time can cause anything from not being able to find your keys, to not having time to sit and have a good breakfast because you’re taking too much time getting everything you need for the day together and packed. It’s a common affliction, and the cure is being organized.

Create a family launch pad to start the day right

Create a Family Launch Pad To Conquer The Day

There are various ways to get your family organized and ready to start the day well, and my favorite by far is having an area by the front door that keeps everything in one spot, organized, categorized, in a space saving way. Whether you are heading out or coming home, the launch pad will get everyone out the door prepared for the day.

There should be a place for 1. daily accessories and necessities (like handbags and keys), 2. seasonal outerwear and accessories (coats, scarves, sunglasses, etc), and 3. anything you need specifically for the next day (for school, work, an event).

For us, the Sudley Hall Tree from Raymour & Flanigan featured here fits the bill perfectly.

Organized entryway

Raymour and Flanigan Hall Tree

Raymour and Flanigan storage seat bench espresso wood

The Hall Tree is our family’s command center, to help us start our day with everything we need. It’s a wooden organizer in espresso with beautiful molding, eight brass hardware hooks, a sturdy storage bench that doubles as a seat, and a divided shelf with three compartments and wicker baskets on top. Because it’s organized vertically, it saves a lot of space, and there are no holes in our wall for shelves and hooks.

· You don’t have to worry about where you put your keys.

· You don’t have to wonder where the kids’ mittens are.

· You don’t have to sit on the floor while you struggle take those muddy shoes and boots off when you come back home.

We don’t spend time looking for anything lost around the house, because we put everything back on the Hall Tree when we return home, ready for the next day.

How To Prepare For The Day With A Hall Tree

  • Seasonal coats are ready on the hooks, as well as the purse and keys
  • Aplit up the storage baskets (my husband and I share one, the boys share a second) and use them to store hats, gloves, sunglasses, etc and the third storage basket stores school supplies
  • The secure storage bench seat provides a place to comfortably sit to put shoes on or take them off
  • The storage bench stores dad’s freshly laundered and folded uniforms so he can bring them to work in the morning, as well as our son’s school bag
  • It’s perfect for guests too

The Hall Tree is the end of hunting through a pile on a bed for a guest’s coat. When people visit, they can take their coat and scarf off at the door and hang it up, and when they leave just take what is theirs before they head out the door.

Other things we love about the Sudley Hall Tree as a system for our family organization: the baskets are high enough to be out of reach of the baby (he’s written on enough walls, so I now have a spot for crayons that he can’t get to), the storage bench lid slowly closes so no fingers get pinched, and everything is sturdy and strong- very safe!

If you are a “born disorganized” person, creating a Launch Pad for your family will help you become more organized. Have everything ready the night before so mornings are no longer spent searching and running around. Mornings are for healthy breakfasts and good-bye kisses, not panicking and scrambling. When you come home, you can sit and comfortably remove your shoes, take off your coat and hat and hang them up, ready for the next day, and store your keys so that you know where to find them next time you need them.

Enter to win a $500 Raymour & Flanigan Gift Card

My shopping experience at Raymour and Flanigan was exceptional. The staff was helpful, and they offer white glove delivery as one of their services, but the real gem of it all was their stunningly beautiful, high quality products. It seems everything they offer has multiple uses- in addition to the main function (like a mirror and electric fireplace), everything also serves as beautiful decor and has surprise storage space built into their unique designs.

Raymour & Flanigan would like to give a reader a $500 gift card, so you can find the right products for your entryway and home to keep your family organized as well. Use the Rafflecopter below to enter, and good luck!
