Nine U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes are supporting nine programs in need, and one will receive a $500,000 donation from Citi®. Readers can help decide which worthy program will receive it, with just a click. Olympians such as Ted Ligaty (supporting Youth Enrichment Services), Julie Chu (The USA Hockey Foundation), Evan Lycasek (Figure Skating in Harlem), Billy Demong (Team For Tomorrow) and others are using their celebrity to support programs that will, among other things, help youth from underserved areas participate in various sports, learn important values, and experience activities that they otherwise would not be exposed to.
My favorite programs among these are those that reach out to youth, and maybe I’m a bit biased now that Ligety has brought us home another gold medal, but I personally find myself favoring his worthy cause…building self confidence in children by encouraging them to go out and snowboard and ski! Sports does build confidence in children, particularly young girls, so I love the programs that are being promoted, and can’t wait to see which one wins!

This sounds really neat!! I agree reaching out to youth i think is really important. It is a time where you are unsure about things and nice ot have a positive figure come in and help you along the way!!
