No Bake Cake Pops For The 4th Of July

Lately my sons have been really digging cake pops, and I’ve been enjoying creating 4th of July crafts and treats, so I realized we would have a lot of fun making some 4th of July cake pops together. Since I wanted my sons to do it with me, I asked my sister for her no-bake cake pops recipe and it turns out, she uses International Delight Hazelnut in her recipe (I think it’s genetic, because it’s what we have in our fridge and we love hazelnut!)

Obviously you can decorate your cake pops however you want, but it’s almost Independence Day, we are a proud and patriotic family, so of course we made ours star spangled and red, white and blue!

No Bake Hazelnut Cake Pops

Ingredients

1 package vanilla cream wafers (about 12-15 oz)
1/4 cup International Delight Hazelnut creamer
White frosting
Red, white and blue edible sprinkles and stars in separate dipping bowls

Directions

1. Blend the vanilla cream wafers and hazelnut International Delight in a bowl until well mixed.
2. Form balls with the batter, an inch or so in diameter, and let sit for a couple minutes to set, then cover each ball with white frosting.
3. Dunk each cake pop into sprinkle colors of choice and cover completely. Set aside to dry (about 10 minutes).

I tried using glittery red and blue icing to decorate the cake pops, but it was a mess and they kept dripping. Dunking the cake pops into edible glitter and sprinkles worked out perfectly! In less than ten minutes the cake pops were dry and the sprinkles stayed put, so they were ready to be shared and eaten. They taste great!

I love the combination of hazelnut and wafers. I think in the future I’m going to try some other International Delight flavors, because these were so easy to make and tasty. I found some recipes for carrot cake and chocolate no bake that would taste great with International Delight Caramel Marshmallow or Salted Caramel Mocha, so I’m heading out to pick those up for the next recipes…yum!
