Building A World Of Knights and Treasure

Building creativity and a strong imagination in my sons is one of my goals as a mom, because the ability the see the possibilities and think outside the box will offer them a fuller, richer life. I know they can do anything, so I provide them with materials and let them just create. LEGOs are building blocks to create just about anything, and many children and adults do (a visit to F.A.O. Schwartz will astound you- people are creating art with LEGOs, it’s surreal and incredible!).

Since my sons are pretty young, I still prefer not to give them anything too small, so LEGO Duplo is perfect for my almost three year old. He doesn’t fumble or drop them, and I don’t worry that he’ll choke on a piece if he decides to gnaw on one. And LEGOS Duplo are better than traditional blocks for my sons, because they stick together, come in unique shapes, and all in all offer so much more than simply stacking building blocks.

We recently had a lot of fun together building with the LEGO Duplo Treasure Attack set, perfect for young boys who love knights and treasure and castles…my younger son just loved putting pieces together, and my older son was able to follow directions and make a cool castle, tree fortress, and horse-drawn carriage.

Treasure Attack features a bi-level castle with a flag and smiling spider, a tree fortress with a catapult that can stand on it’s own or connect to the castle, and a horse-drawn carriage with a treasure chest, plus three LEGO Duplo knights with swords and axes. We can come up with all sorts of medieval adventures and action-packed stories (and they did…my older son loves to throw things so he kept catapulting the apples around the room).

LEGO Duplo is for children 1 1/2 to 5 years of age (my sons’ ages), offering oversized LEGO bricks designed to safely fit into small hands while still stirring up big ideas. Ready to join in on the fun?
