Creating A Garden Filled With Organic Vegetables and Beautiful Flowers

This post brought to you by Organic Choice. All opinions are 100% mine.

For my edible gardening, I only use organic products. It’s not only better for the environment, but it’s better for my family, and as a family that eats 80% organic diet, it makes sense that the garden I grow for our family’s produce would be done organically also. Organic Choice is a line of fully organic gardening products for people like me who want to grow herbs and vegetables for our own family’s dinner table.

Gardeners can choose from Miracle-Gro Organic Choice Plant Food for your in ground plants, and Miracle-Gro Organic Choice Potting Mix for any herbs, flowers, fruits or veggies you are growing in pots this year. In the past I mainly used pots, but this year I am extending my efforts to my in ground garden for a more ambitious and lush vegetable garden.

I love to make meals with my own, natural, homegrown ingredients! What can you include in an edible garden? Delicious herbs to flavor your foods, veggies for salads, sides, and to enhance your dishes. All your ingredients can be naturally homegrown with Miracle-Gro Organic Choice, and you have the comfort of knowing you aren’t hurting the environment and your family is getting the best.

My Organic Choice harvest so far (we have a bit to go yet as it’s early in the year, and it’s my first time ever growing flowers):

I’m growing lettuce in pots with the potting mix, and everything else (flowers, eggplant, and cucumbers) in the ground. Since I’m a major salad girl, I plan to eat healthy salads every day with my lettuce and cucumbers, and use the eggplant to make a delicious casserole (and once in a while, fried eggplant- a guilty pleasure!). I coat eggplant slices in a batter of eggs and panko and fry it in olive oil, and it’s sooo good!

What are your favorite recipes that you can make with vegetables, fruits, and herbs grown with Organic Choice products?

  • I would love a huge garden one day. Love your blue flower!

  • I love Miracle Gro, so I will have to try this out! I can’t wait to start planting flowers and our garden!!!

  • Organic is definitely the only way to go in our home as well. Your garden seems to be coming along quite nicely!

  • I have a lonely blue Hyacinth hanging out in my garden too.

  • Penelope

I just sprinkled some seeds into the ground after using the Scott’s last year and this is what popped up, the Hyacinth and lots of tulips…it was such a pretty surprise!

  • Such pretty flowers! Gardening is definitely one thing I love doing in the spring and summer. πŸ™‚

  • I love a big salad full of garden fresh veggies. We don’t have much luck here in the Missouri River bed, but maybe this will help!

  • I can’t wait until I can plant my garden! I love Miracle-Gro too.

  • Those flowers are gorgeous! I have a hard time keeping any green living thing alive, but I keep trying.

  • Oh, your lettuce is looking fabulous! There’s nothing like fresh lettuce from the garden – it lasts so long after cutting!

  • We got our potting soil from a company in Wisconsin this year. A 2 cubic foot tote! It was much cheaper than the individual bags I bought last year and cheaper than other companies offering the tote size we needed. We are doing raised beds and a commercial garden for our customers, plus it will be a soil implement since our land was farmed by big Ag so the soil needs extra ooupmf. πŸ˜‰

  • I need to get out and clean out my veggie garden and add some more organic dirt to it.

  • I love your flower it is beautiful. Hope your lettuce grows well.

  • I wish we had a yard or light in our apartment to plant things.

  • It’s so exciting to see them peeking through the soil, and it’s satisfying knowing you grew them yourself. πŸ™‚

  • Ever since we moved, I’ve wanted to plant more tulips, daffodils and hyacinths but I have yet to do it! Maybe this fall we will finally get around to it.

My f-i-l and b-i-l grow huge vegetable (and some fruit) gardens so I get all I want from theirs. πŸ™‚ Because I do not have a green thumb… however, I would like to grow some flowers, I know Miracle Gro does give someone like me a fighting chance at growing plants. πŸ™‚

  • I love tomato and cucumber salads in the summer. They are so light and refreshing and complement virtually everything!

  • I’m glad to see the Miracle Gro has organic products. I’ll get some for our garden this year.

  • I love growing mint and throwing it into a glass jar with some water and tea bags. Letting it hang out in the sun all day. YUM!

  • Aww, your flower is just the cutest little thing ever!

  • How wonderful there is organic soil options to ensure you are feeding your family chemical free homegrown goodness. It’s a big bonus that growing organic helps the bees too!
