For New Parents, Sometimes You Need A Genie To Help Stay Organized {Giveaway 10 Winners}

Having kids brings a sort of disarray into the lives of parents, and while it’s a wonderful disarray, it definitely helps to have some aspects of our lives kept in order (or else you’ll never find the baby powder when you need it). While I couldn’t predict what my child would want to eat or when he’d have to go to the potty, I could at least keep our living space as orderly as possible, to set the stage for all our adventures to take place in.

I became very focused on organizing after I had children, and I have to say, it was a good thing. Anything that contains and organizes is a new mom’s best friends, and one great organizer is the Playtex® Diaper Genie™ SmartCaddy™.

diaper caddy

The Playtex® Diaper Genie™ SmartCaddy™ is like two organizers in one, because it addition to having lots of places to store all those things new babies need (like diapers and wipes and pacifiers and thermometers and toys and…well, you get the idea), it has velcro straps that can attach them to a crib or cabinet, or to each other, creating one larger caddy combined. It’s very customizable.

The Playtex® Diaper Genie™ SmartCaddy™ can store up to 30 diapers, is lightweight and portable, and is water-resistant (ie spills, spit up, and other yucky stuff-resistant). It’s very convenient and a great idea for a baby shower gift, something moms can have in each room baby spends time in to make life easier! The Playtex® Diaper Genie™ SmartCaddy™ featured today is only $19.99 and can be found at Target.

  • What a smart tool! I love that it can attach to the crib. I might need to pick one up!

  • Katy P

My tip is to buy baby clothes from yardsale pages on Facebook or from consignment stores. They grow out of them so fast- it isn’t wise to pay full price!

  • Heather B

I think the biggest tip you can give someone is to trust their instincts. Noone knows YOUR baby as well as you!

  • Margaret Maggie Porter

My tip is to not buy a lot of clothes in small sizes but stretch out the sizes. They grow so quickly and sometimes never even get to wear some of the outfits.

  • Heather!

My tip for NEW parents? Take help when it’s offered! Seriously…call in all those offers to babysit or help out. You might not think you will need the help, but even if it gives you a chance to get a shower and a nap, it’s worth it!

Try to have everything on a routine. It makes everything easier!!

  • Marci

The biggest thing I learned as a new parent is to nap when baby naps! House work can always be done later.

  • Raijean

This is so neat! I’m done with babies but I would so get this!

  • My tip is not to overdo it when it comes to buying baby clothing, no matter how many cute outfits you see. I did this with my first child, and there were so many outfits that he didn’t get to wear. Babies grow up fast!

  • I LOVE this. I never had anything like that when Mine were in diapers. I might use this for something other than diapers now actually LOL

  • Nannypanpan

Keep babies in a routine to help them better sleep eat and play

  • McKim

Follow your own instincts. If you think there isn’t something right with your baby, have them checked out.

  • Marjorie Whitney

I always tell new moms when they tell me they’re getting conflicting advise that no one can do a better job with their baby as long as they trust their best instincts. No complaints yet…

  • clarissa

make sure your house is well equipped with things you will need after the baby arrives before your due date.

  • maggie

buy cloth diapers! in the end they will save you money!

  • Julie

When babies are newborn, you will need to change diapers about every 2 hours. You will need WAY more diapers than you think. We ran out with our first much more quickly than I anticipated! Be prepared! Julie smartsavvymama@gmail.com
