When You Don’t Know What To Do, There Are Moms You Can Trust

There have been many times I wished there was a baby manual when I first had my son. I couldn’t believe the hospital would just hand me a brand new human being to take home, expecting I knew what to do. The first week, we called my son’s pediatrician twice overnight, and I was an emotional mess, filled with guilt over not being a perfect mom who telepathically knew what my baby wanted when he cried.

Most women (like me) didn’t have anyone they could call up any time to ask for help, someone who had been there, done that, and who could explain, answer, reassure. I really don’t think there is anything more stressful than being a brand new mom, except for being a brand new mom with no one to reach out to for help.

Today there is definitely help. Playtex Baby Mom Trust program is a virtual network of parents, both moms and dads, that will offer exactly what I was looking for when I first became a mom. It’s a place to share stories and experiences, offer and receive tips, read honest product reviews, and discover insights about parenthood.

I am happy to be a Mom Trust member in 2014, and am looking forward to connecting with other parents and sharing my experiences this year. As a blogger, I’ve spoken to many women who shared that not only is being a new parent scary, but it’s often lonely, and they sometimes feel that the only friends they have anymore are those they’ve made on-line. Being a new parent is scary, but you don’t have to feel alone. Come join us soon!

  • What a great resource! I am definitely checking it out- I feel like a first time mom all over again due to the age gap between my kiddos.

  • It’s nice to have community support. Gone are the days of everyone living together and having generations of help readily available.

  • Sounds like a great resource. I’ll have to check it out.

  • I remember reading baby forums all the time when mine were little!

  • I was a young mom who really could have used something like this program.

  • Wow this is so awesome. I think it is great to get the help you are searching for or to just let you know your okay! Great resource for parents!

  • I wish I had had a resource like this available when I was a young mom, I know that I would not have felt so alone and not have messed up nearly as much.

  • I didn’t even have the virtual world until I had my third child. I called my mom and she’s in Canada.

  • Congrats on being a Mom Trust member! We really can’t have enough resources to go to for help with mom stuff 🙂

  • As someone who moved a lot when my kids were little, I really appreciate that this can be a place to reach out to for support when you may not have anyone nearby.

  • This is a fantastic resource. I will definitely check it out. Even though I have three little ones, I still sometimes feel like I have no idea what i’m doing.

  • Until I became a mom I never realized how it’s possible to never be alone and still be so lonely! Thanks for sharing this resource.

  • Sounds like a fabulous place for new parents. My oldest will be turning 10 this year and I’d still like a parenting manual delivered to my doorstep!

  • What a great resource. Being a new mom can be intimidating, having a program like this sure could help.

  • I’ve so been there. What a great opportunity for you to help out other moms!

  • What a great source of information for moms. I will definitely check it out.

  • Congrats! They sure know how to pick the right moms for the job 🙂 This sounds like a great resource, one I could have really used when my DD was born!

  • I was very lucky that it all came naturally to me.. we just had a lot of issues with latching in the beginning. I never had that support I wanted though, with my mom being gone and my family being far away it was all me. I was very thankful for the friends on the online 🙂 Can’t wait to hear more about this program from you!

  • Being a new parent IS scary — I was fortunate to have a mom and mother in law on hand for those first few weeks … can’t imagine doing it along. Congrats on being a panel member — can’t wait to hear what you have to share.

  • Networks like this are so helpful for moms. I need to check it out for some extra online support being a second time mom.

  • Luckily I had 5 days in the hospital with my daughter, due to C-section, before I was on my own. Even then I was so pumped up I didn’t sleep for literally a week. Finally had to get some medication.

  • It is very scary and I was away from all my family when I had my son. I’m very much a person that likes instructions LOL.

  • Sounds like a wonderful resource! I’ll definitely be checking it out!

  • It’s scary when you first have your kids. It’s nice to know there is somewhere to go to get a little advice.

  • A manual would have been super helpful to me as a new parent. Even now I’m constantly seeking the council of women who have been there, done that.

  • How exciting to be a part of this panel. I know when I was a new mom I worried about so much and had so many questions.

  • I have never heard of this program, but it sounds wonderful!
