Creating My Own Homemade Recipe Book In Full Color (+ My Chicken Pot Pie Recipe) #CanonPIXMA

One of my favorite things to do online is find new recipes to try for my family’s dinner, and when I find a winner I print it out. I used to have a collection of cookbooks, but over time they were replaced by a collection of printouts of my favorite recipes that I keep in a binder and refer to often. These days I can print out very appetizing recipes in color with the Canon PIXMA MG7120 Wireless Inkjet Photo All-In-One Printer. Here is a printout of an image of one of my favorite recipes with the Canon PIXMA on white paper, my Individual Chicken Pot Pies recipe:

I made a new recipe for Individual Chicken Pot Pies individually in cocottes for each member. The Chicken Pot Pies taste phenomenal, so I’ll share my recipe so you can print it out for your own recipe binder.

Individual Chicken Pot Pies

Ingredients
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
1/3 cup chopped carrots
1/3 cup chopped celery
1/3 cup chopped onions
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup flour
2 tbs butter
1/2 tsp rosemary
1/2 thyme
pastry puff dough to top four cocottes or ramekins

Instructions
1. Combine chicken, carrots, celery, onions, chicken broth, flour, butter, and spices into slow cooker and cook on low for about five hours or high for three.
2. Pour chicken pot pie filling into four separate cocottes or ramekins.
3. Cover each cocotte with a pastry puff sheet and pinch sides to close. Create vents with a fork or pre-cut with a cookie cutter.
4. Bake on 350 for 20 minutes (or until pastry puff crusts are a golden brown).
5. Remove from heat, let cool and enjoy!

And of course, I printed it out with the Canon PIXMA MG7120 color photo printer to add to my personal recipe binder (otherwise I won’t remember exactly how I made it), complete with the image of my creation on top so I can find it easily:

  • Mellisa

What a great printer. Those pot pies are so cute too.

  • I would love to make a cookbook like that with all of my Gram’s recipes.

  • Donna

I love the individual pot pies like that. And your pics from the printer look good enough to eat!

  • That’s such a good idea to do it that way. I might just have to start. Can I use my son’s printer since I bought him this one?

  • I like to print out recipes too! I have separate folders I use for different types of recipes. I like the binder idea though. I might have to start doing that.
