My Home Improvements Bucket List- One Down! #DigIn #HeartOutdoors

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Home Depot.

Cultivating my first salad garden this year was a fun experience, especially when I see the results of using my City Pickers Garden Kit from Home Depot. Those little struggling lettuce transplants from a few weeks ago?

Now look like this:

I’d say some yummy lettuce and herbs will be ready to eat very soon! I can’t wait to have fresh greens on our table right from our own garden, and next year I feel confident enough to grow a much bigger vegetable garden with the lettuce, veggies and herbs I found at the Home Depot garden center. If you’d like to see how I did it, you can read about how I grew my organic salad garden (steps) (and don’t make the mistake of overbuying potting soil and fertilizer like I did- I ended up giving the extra to my dad for his tomatoes and veggie garden, so at least it went to great use).

My euphoric feeling of accomplishment has in fact inspired me to tackle a lot more “I didn’t think I would ever try it myself” projects, such as a paver path next (with pretty lights lining the sides), and a few other diy projects I found on the Home Depot Garden Club site (with lists of materials, and easy to follow steps).

In fact, I made a list of everything I want to get done this spring, and I’m raring to go! Most of it can be found at the Garden Club, and I need to save the links to what I want to do because they are constantly updating with lots of new ideas and projects. Most I can do myself, and some of the items on my list, well, I’ll be hiring someone to do, but it all works together to make my home more beautiful, safe and fun for my family.

Home Improvement Projects To Tackle Next

  • Build a paver path
  • Build a shed
  • Buy new Garage Doors
  • Grow a vertical flower garden
  • Buy storm doors
  • Re-cement patio
  • Plan patio area for parties
  • Build a fence
  • Outdoor fire pit

I can not wait until we start having get togethers this year in our backyard, on our beautiful patio, with a cozy fire going as we grill into the nights. Lots of fun!

  • wow that really turned out nicely

  • We’re putting in a new deck next month. I am so excited about it.

  • I would love to grow a garden. I’m waiting for my husband to build me a awooden box. Maybe I’ll just get one at Home Depot like you did.

  • wow! they grew super quick!

  • nicole @nicky_olea

That is so awesome. Wish I could find one of those here in Italia!

  • That’s awesome that they look that great after just a week! Will you keep them in the container you have them in the whole time? I’d love to do some gardening, but we just don’t have room. If I could do them in containers or pots it might be a possibility.

  • Your lettuce plants are doing great! I bet you can’t wait to make you a nice, homegrown salad 🙂

  • Your garden looks great!

  • I have that same planter and cannot wait until I can pick my tomatoes and peppers!

  • Thank goodness for container gardening. That’s all we could do this year!

  • Penelope

It was actually a few weeks, but yep, fast progress 🙂

  • Wow, that is awesome. They’ve really taken off. You’re inspiring me.

  • Jennifer @ The Quirky Momma

What a beautiful little container garden! Great job!

  • You go, girl! I’m sure you’ll fly through that DIY list before you know it!

  • Donna

I love anything fresh out of the garden! We have some outdoor projects, but finishing my sun room takes precedence. 🙂

  • They turned out great!

  • I grow herbs in containers, but am totally going to grow some salad greens now.

  • Your little garden looks great! 🙂 And I can’t wait to see how you do your other bucket list. I bet it’ll all look fab!

  • Our garden (our first ever) is really starting to take off and it’s so awesome to watch! With the garden and getting our grout cleaned checked off the home improvement bucket list, I think redoing our banister is next!

  • Penelope

These home improvements are additive, I tell ya 🙂 I want to do more and more, especially after seeing how easy they can be (and it makes me feel great when I do it myself, with my own two hands- I feel so capable!)

  • Looks great!

  • Wow, looks like it is really coming along now. Some of the items on your list are on mine as well for this summer!

  • Your garden looks great!

  • I wish it wasn’t too hot already here for a salad garden … can’t wait for fall to put one in! I have a few things in our garden but most of our time this spring has been spent building our coop. We are *thisclose* to having it finished!

  • We plan to build a huge planter box in our backyard in the next month or so! I’m so excited!

  • Your garden turned out great!

  • Looks great!

  • Those plants got big FAST!

  • I’ve gotten a lot done in my yard but only have one more larger project planned this year… a veggie trellis hideout for my daughter and the dog. Of course the two of them will probably eat the produce before I can get to it…lol

  • Pretty garden!

  • I wish I were into gardening. I would love to grow my own stuff 🙂
