One of the sweetest moments of my life happened recently. I was told when I was having a second child that the first child will be jealous, because obviously you are going to give a lot of time and attention to the new infant. This didn’t happen in our home. Our two year old son doesn’t get upset if we don’t pay attention to him. Instead, he becomes upset if he can’t have access to his brother. He wants to help change his diaper, to cuddle and kiss him, and to always be near him.
Recently, little man made my heart melt when he suddenly took his new brother, who was crying, in his arms and repeatedly hugged and kissed him, while cooing sweet words to him such as “Good boy, awww, good baby, don’t cry”. He didn’t know we were watching and taking pictures…within moments, he managed to sooth his baby brother:
