Summer Entertaining & Pure Leaf Iced Tea Smoothies

Summer is my favorite season, and in addition to the glorious sun and beautiful weather, entertaining family and friends is a big part of what makes me love it so much. My favorite summertime treats? Grilled foods, sweet fruits, and iced tea!

I recently discovered Pure Leaf Iced Tea, an all natural iced tea that is absolutely delicious. It’s available with lemon, sweetened and unsweetened, and they all taste great (especially the lemon iced tea). I usually drink a tall glass of sweet iced tea while I relax outdoors, eating strawberries and watching my son run around.

Tips for Summer Entertaining

* Enjoy the outdoors. What is the point of summertime if not to relish in the warm weather and gentle summer breezes? Take your entertaining outdoors for some fresh air fun.

* Make sure everyone is comfortable. Along with the hot weather and sun can come bugs (blech!) and sunburns, so don’t let your guests suffer. Use citronella candles or other safe insect repellant, as well as a canopy for some shade.

* Offer delicious snacks and foods, of course! In season fruits are delicious, not to mention very healthy. Grilled meats and veggies are awesome, and a sweet beverage like iced tea is refreshing. You can combine sweet summer fruits and iced tea to make a yummy fruit smoothie, like this one with Pure Leaf Iced Tea:

A Fruit-“Tea” Smoothie Recipe

(Serves 4)

Ingredients

16 ounces Pure Leaf Iced Tea with Lemon, chilled
2 cups frozen strawberries
1 cup vanilla ice cream

In blender, process all ingredients until smooth. Serve immediately in tall glasses.

Pure Leaf is dedicated to the environment, so changed from round-bottom glass bottles to square-bottom, 100% recyclable PET plastic bottles that are packaged more efficiently, to reduce the overall burden on the various factors that affect the environment. It’s also all natural, with ingredients that make me feel at ease giving to my family and friends. Everyone in my family enjoyed it.
