Five Fabulous Christmas Decorating Ideas

Christmas is one of my favorite holidays of the year, and the beauty of Christmas decorations is part of the reason. Few things are more cheerful to me than a home beautifully decorated for the holidays, with cheery touches for every room. If you are looking for Christmas decorating ideas, here is some inspiration to help make your home a Winter Wonderland this Christmas. The best part of these decorating ideas? They are simple, and easy to do!

This is from Martha Stewart’s website, and it simply includes surrounding a candle with beautiful, large flowers. The red amaryllis shown here looks beautiful against the white tablecloth:

For a beautiful glow (on the mantel or by the window), take some household jars and put tealights inside. Wrap the mouth of the jar with festive ribbons, and voila, pretty and cozy!

DIY Christmas Candles
Make your own Christmas wreath using scraps of pretty paper, or (like in the example below) sheet music…how pretty! And affordable! And creative! Your children can help you make this.

Take a bunch of spare ornaments and fill a bowl or decorative plate with them for a pretty holiday decoration or centerpiece. There is nothing more to this than matching shimmery, glittery decorations with coordinating flowers, and you can use anything, from tinsel to laurel wreaths and mistletoe to do this. In the example below, pink roses are mixed together with silver, pink and purple Christmas tree ornaments.

Save money and feed your creative side by making your own at home wrapping paper. It’s time to break out all those bows and decorative craft items you’ve been saving all year and decorate your simply wrapped gifts. You can use brown paper bags to hold smaller gifts that aren’t boxed or treats, and recycle clean, dry supermarket paper bags to wrap larger items and boxes, then tie a pretty bow and add on some pretty and simple decorations:
