My favorite etiquette guide is a very old book called A Manual Of Etiquette. It’s available online to read for free, and I recently found out it’s also available for free download on pretty much any eReader. This wonderful book offers timeless advice that puts Ms. Emily Post to shame, from how to handle embarrassing situations and delicate party planning etiquette,  to how to socialize after marriage and how to treat people in need. It’s the ultimate guide in good manners (which seem to be very lacking today).

There are errors in the text because the various eBook editions of A Manual Of Etiquette were created by a group of volunteers, and it’s pretty long so it probably took them quite a bit of time to do, but I’m so impressed that they made the effort to make this available and that I can now download the eBook onto my eReader. The original was written in 1887 before copyright laws came into effect, so it’s an open source book for anyone to enjoy and share from.
