Bacon For Your Hubby and a Great Bacon Stuffed Jumbo Shrimp Recipe

If you have a husband who loves his bacon, or if you love it yourself, you will appreciate this- a company dedicated to providing all varieties of bacon. The BaconFreak slogan- “Bacon is Meat Candy!”- says it all; they deal with all things bacon, including nitrate-free bacon (great for nursing moms and kidlets who love bacon), bacon novelty gifts,  bacon recipes, and more (did you know there were bacon pancakes?).

We had the opportunity to try a package of Broadbent’s nitrate-free country bacon, which was very tasty. I haven’t had bacon in quite a long time (it was on the “No!” list from my doctor when I became pregnant), which was hard on me because I absolutely love bacon- in BLT’s, crumbled over a salad, on the side of my sunny side up eggs. When I was contacted by Bacon Freak, I looked over their web-site and was thrilled to find out they make bacon without nitrates. The package doesn’t even have to be refrigerated (unless you open it and don’t finish it in one serving- then the rest has to be immediately packaged and refrigerated for the future). Each package comes with about twelve strips of large bacon, which are juicy and still very large when fully cooked.

This would make a great gift for men this season, but if your family loves bacon, it would really be a great gift for anyone, especially if you’d love to try different types of bacon- honey bbq, smoked maple, chipotle, jalapeno, etc. To view the varieties offered, visit now, here is a recipe BaconFreak has shared to whet your appetite:

Omg, I'm not sure if I should let my husband see this!

We actually really enjoyed it. It's better than supermarket bacon, it's thicker, closer to Canadian bacon, and cooks slowly- no chemical preservatives either!
